I still clearly remember that 2009 started in a bad way as the whole world was under the fear of the bad economic recession that started from the middle of 2008 or even earlier. 2010 is starting today in a happier note. It seems that the stimulus packages of different countries are helping to some extent and there is more hope of a better time ahead of us. Right now, most of the rich countries are almost out of the bad recession. However, the impact is still there and will be there for the next few months. Job creation is still a major challenge and unemployment rate is still high in many rich countries.
Ordinary people, do not understand the stats that economists and business experts talk about. They just understand whether they and their relatives and friends have jobs or not. Secondly, if they can buy things at a reasonable price. These are two things they understand because these two things directly affect their lives.
Thus, while politicians will claim victory against recession in 2010, ordinary people will still feel the pinch.
